“The words, Emily Hare, you are a triathlete will forever be glued in my mind. It was wonderful!”

“My first Ramblin’ Rose was back in 2011. I had always wanted to do a triathlon, but was scared and nervous. I saw this type of tri offered and jumped at the chance. After RR Raleigh 2011, I fell in love with the sport. I continued to do both the super sprints while adding more distance and other triathlons to my schedule.  In 2013, I gave birth to my first child and three months after an emergency c-section, I was back competing at the 2013 RR Raleigh. There is such a positive, supportive and uplifting atmosphere at these races, it is truly amazing! I am a mother of one, with another little girl on the way. Currently, I work full time, plus I am a full-time PhD student. If I can do it, anyone can!”

“Ramblin’ Rose is a perfect race distance for first time triathletes and a fun race for seasoned triathletes.”

“For the past 2 years, I have raced Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon in Raleigh because it falls around the time of my sister’s birthday. My sister, Carmen, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2013. Carmen was always my biggest cheerleader, so I race in memory of her. In my heart and mind, I can still hear her cheering for me as I cross the finish line. Competing in triathlons, like the Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon, has helped me improve my health, endurance, and confidence.  I want to be a role model for my nephews and teach them the importance of fitness.  I want them to be confident and know that they can achieve their goals by working hard. Training for triathlons requires dedication and a lot of time, but it is my therapy.  It helps me relieve stress and keep my sanity. My most memorable moment at Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon was racing with my friend Emily. It is so much fun to train and race with awesome friends like Emily. I love seeing my friends achieve their goals too!”
