Chapel Hill Triathlon – Beneficiaries

Ramblin’ Rose events are not only about “empowering” the participants, but they also provide great benefit to several very important non-profit organizations.

The Ramblin’ Rose Chapel Hill benefits Girls on the Run of the Triangle, Beautiful Together, and Tri It For Life.

More About Girls on the Run of the Triangle:

…educating and preparing girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living

The GOTR-Triangle chapter was founded in 2000 by Mandy Beard, a Durham, NC native. GOTR-Triangle has grown from serving 20 girls in 2001 to 500+ girls in 2008. We currently have programs throughout the Triangle in Durham, Wake, and Orange counties.

GOTR uses the power of running and being active to change the way girls see themselves and their futures. It is an innovative health education and wellness program that combines training for a 3.1 mile non-competitive run/walk event with life-changing, leadership skill building lessons that encourage healthy habits and an active life-style in girls ages 8-12 years old.

Beautiful Together Supports Children Without Families.

Beautiful Together supports children without families. This non-profit organization shines a light on children who wait to be part of a family while living in foster care, group homes, or orphanages through a combination of professional photography, video profiles, and social outreach, to better connect them with waiting families.

Beautiful Together also works to improve the quality of life for these children – and all those involved in foster care, domestic and international adoption today – through specific, tangible, and measurable projects, with the long-term goal of effecting positive change both in the perception of, and the systemic issues in, domestic and international adoption.

Tri It For Life training culminates with the Ramblin’ Rose Women’s Only Triathlon in Raleigh, South Charlotte, Huntersville, and soon in Chapel Hill. Deciding to “Tri” is a difficult step but it’s one step on the journey to developing a healthy lifestyle and friendships for life.
